founder, artistic director and chief conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.
Kamoliddin Urinbaev was born in 1985. Today the young conductor is actively involved in symphonic music, yet the beginning of his path is closely tied to the art of Uzbek folk performance.
He began his musical education studying the gijjak and the violin at the Glière Republican Specialized Music Academic Lyceum (RSMAL).
He graduated from the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan (bachelor’s degree — 2007, master’s degree — 2009) in two classes: gijjak (with Associate Professor A. Umarov) and conducting (with Professor F. R. Abdurakhimova).
In the same year he entered the conducting faculty of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, in the department of opera and symphony conducting, in the class of People’s Artist of Russia, Professor V. K. Polyansky. He also studied with People’s Artist of the USSR G. Rozhdestvensky.
He performed extensively as a soloist and orchestra musician, learning the subtleties of working in a musical ensemble. He made his conducting debut with a folk orchestra in the second year of his bachelor’s studies at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.
He has conducted many orchestras, including:
He has also conducted opera — at the Navoi Grand Academic Bolshoi Theatre — including a contemporary production of L. van Beethoven’s opera “Fidelio” (directed by G. Dmitriev).
In 2014, together with a group of like-minded young musicians, he founded the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan. In August 2015, by decision of the Central Kengash of the Kamolot Youth Social Movement, the orchestra officially began its work under that organization.
By decree of the President of 24 August 2024, Kamoliddin Turdimuratovich Urinbaev — Rector of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and Artistic Director of the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan — was awarded the honorary title “People’s Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
